In a move few could have expected, Elon Musk released a song called “Don’t Doubt ur Vibe,” which he not only wrote, but performed. Musk released a series of photos of himself in a recording studio, presumably putting his finishing touches on the track.
As far as anyone knew, Elon Musk is not a musician. He’s an entrepreneur who’s founded everything from PayPal and The Boring Company to SpaceX and Tesla Inc. With his eyes set on pioneering bold advancements in technology, he’s the engineer behind the Tesla Cybertruck, the Hyperloop, and even the Spaceballs-inspired flamethrower, among other things. As it turns out, though, he’s left some room for a musical pastime.
A recent Twitter thread from Musk includes a series of photos of himself in a recording studio, announcing a new song that he wrote, recorded, and performed called “Don’t Doubt ur Vibe.” He then released a Soundcloud link for the song and posted the same photos on his Instagram, with the caption, “Elon recording a song.” Musk dates musician Grimes, who could very well have been his inspiration to try his hand at producing music of his own. Check out the song below:
As innovative in his endeavors as Musk may be, he isn’t always painted in the most positive light. In fact, there was once a time when he had to respond to questions about whether or not he was attempting to create a real-life zombie apocalypse - all because he had created his own flamethrower. He responded to this rumor on Twitter, stating that he had no intention of creating a zombie apocalypse in order to “generate demand” for his flamethrowers, confirming that the rumors are “completely false.” He also joked that he might have the ability to create his own zombies if he wanted to, but doesn’t have a large factory to do so. He said, “You’d need millions of zombies for a so-called “apocalypse.”
When he’s not being accused of ushering in an age of zombies, Elon Musk has been compared to fictional billionaire innovators like Tony Stark/Iron Man and Bruce Wayne/Batman. However, though Stark and Wayne may have him beat when it comes to suiting up as a literal superhero and risking their lives to save the world, Musk is the only one of the three to brave his way into the world of music. It may not be as physically dangerous, but it’s surely just as intimidating. And that has to count for something, right?
