In this guide, we will show you the steps to unlock the bootloader on Huawei and Honor devices using the PotatoNV Tool. When it comes to the bootloader unlocking process, every OEM takes a slightly different approach. As far as Huawei is concerned, you need to get hold of a unlock code that corresponds to your device. However, the smartphone manufacturer giant decided to stop providing these codes a couple of years back. This straightaway meant that you wouldn’t be able to carry out the unlocking process on the aforementioned devices.
While this gave rise to many party services that claimed to aid you in this process, they were mostly sketchy. But the open-source nature of the Android again came to the rescue. Making full use of the same, the developers were quick to the task and managed to find a workaround in the form of a tool. Using the PotatoNV Tool, it is now possible to unlock the bootloader on your Huawei and Honor devices running the Kirin chipset. So without further ado, let’s check out the required instructions.
